Convention of the National Button Society be increased to $500 from $200
due to rising costs.
(2) That in preparing and shipping or transporting inventory from one
Back Issues & Publication person to another, reirnbursement shall be up to the
amount it would cost to have a commercial establishment prepare and ship the
inventory. If transported in a private vehicle, the round trip mileage
reimbursement rate is set by the lRS.
(3)That the Society shal1 purchase from Ann Olson copies of the
"Guidelines for Collecting China Buttons" that she bought at the auction of
Bob Hill's estate and has offered to sell to the Society at her cost. It shall also
reimburse her for the cost of shipping the books to the appropriate Back Issues
& Publications persons. Selling price for thesc China books to be the current
selling price of $8.50.
(4) That a contract agreement be signed by the person responsible for
transporting the racks and library and the president of the National Button
Society. This contract shall set fofih the duties ofthe contractor and state any
reimbursement or fees which shall be paid for the carrying out of these duties
with the amount of reimbursement and/or fees to be set by the Board.
(5) That the price of the October, 1994 bulletin featuring "Bakelite" be
lowered from Sl0 to 55.
(6) That the December 1989 bulletin featuring the French Revolution be
lowered from $ l0 to 55.
(7) That we accept the offer made by Ronnie Wexler for the free creation
of a free Web Site for one year with Tammy Jones of Tennessee as the
moderator and designer of the Web Site.
A decision as to the disposal of Back Issues of the National Bulletin was
tabled.
Moved, seconded and carried to permit Peggy Osbome to extract limited
amounts of copyrighted material from the National Button Society
publications.
At the request of some of the nine directors it was agreed to have an
informal annual retreat, preferably at lunch time, of the nine directors and at
least one ofthe three top officers (President, First and Second Vice Presidents)
on the Monday of the show week. This is to be an open and completely off the
record, confidential discussion on perlinent matters relative to the Society and
members are urged to contact any of the nine directors via mail if they have
items they wish presented. In so doing it will save considerable time in
discussions at the two Board meetings.
Moved, seconded and carried that the By-Laws be amended so that the
National Board add a third scheduled meeting to its annual events to be held
on Monday during the week of the convention for the purpose of forth coming
business.
There being no furlher business the meeting adjourned.
