we have tul'ned to a clean white page on which to mal(e the .ecor.ds of
the Neu'Year. 1948. What will they be? 194? was a good year for the
NtsS, and as we wolked and played together we grew in numbels and
strength. This hobby, the collecting and pleservation of old buttons is far-
Ieaching aud it b|ing,s happiness, pleasut.e, and sometimes comfor.t, to many
of our mernbers. Recently a member said to me, ,,I don't know what i
would have done if r had not had rny buttons to enjoy du|ing the many
nronths I had to stay in bed. They wet'e such a comfor.t and help.',
1948 cones to us as a challenge, as it is our tenilr anniver.sar.y year.,
\\ie have l)een ten yeals a-gforting and rve must make this a gala year.' We
can look forwa|d to a BIG celeblation in cleYeland in the Fall, but in the
tneantime let us all wolk together to inc|ease our. membe|ship. In the attr.ac-
tive little Yeal Book of the oklahoma, Mayes county Button club, the i\Iem-
bership committee is listed as F)ach llcnrber. I like that-eaih mernbel
working for new members. Duling this tenth anniversa|y year let us all be
an I]ach llenber member of the NBS A'Iemrrei'ship Committee.
Listen PLEASE: Let us star.t the New year light. How? Read and

I-The BULLETINS are published in January, March, 1\{ay, July, Sep-
tember, and November', between the f,r'st and ilre fifteenth of the publication
rnonth. They ale mailed out dilect, flom the pr.inter.'s stencil niailing list.
(The secletaly mails to those whose membelships come in too late for the
(ful|ent mailing, and then adds the Darnes to the plinter"s list fo| the next
ruailing.) IF you do not leceive your BULLETIN within one monilr of the
publicatiorr date, please notify the SItCRIITARy. Tell your BULLETIN
troubles to irer',-Dot to the Editor', the pr.esident, ol'any othel per.son. She
has the t'ecortls, and atterxls to the rneriling, and is tlte one rvlrq i.1n alslvel.
the <;uestions. It will save tirne if shc ciru leceive the complaint of ,.BUL-
LETINS not leceived," and all mattels per.taining to membership, dilect-
not through a second ol thir.d person.
II-All mernbelships, with dues, should be sent di'cct to tlre seeretnr,y.
This is important. lt will facilitate the rvolk, and pi'event delays in lecord-
ing and sending out meml)ership calds, if nlemllel's will heed tiris request.
III-Send collect mailing x661.s55-r 'hether Miss, Mrs, or Mr., and
whether stfeet, Avelrue, ol what. This is one of the secletary's "pet peeves."
Please do not be nlaly Jane one year, Nli.s. John the next, and Mls. J. p, the
rlext. It is all too confusing. The addless on the envelope in which this
RTTLLETIN is leceived is as it is listed on our' file car,d.
IV-Send chaDge of addless to tire Secretaly pROMpTLy. Over fifty
changes came in too late to make the change on the Septeml)el' and Novem-
ber mailing lists. If you did not receive these BULLETINS this is ilre ex-
pianatioD l)ecause they wele sent to the old address. uncle Sam rvill not
forwald the BULLETINS unless the full arnount of postage for forwarding
is afiixed. If the BIILLETIN is not deliveled at ilre address given, it is re-
trtrned to the Secletary. Thus far, very few of the BULLETINS sent to the
wrong add|ess have been returued. Our supply of extrzr BUI:LETINS does
not peranit us to send duplicates. So-do ;'our. pa.rt!
