      May  1      "The Teddy  Bear's Picnic"  is the theme  for the New York
                  State Button Society  Spring  Show  and competition.  The show
                  will be held at the Holiday Inn of Waterloo/Seneca  Falls, 2468

      May 6-8     CALIFORNIA
                  The Califomia State Button Show will be held in the Visalia
                  Holiday  Inn. The theme will be "Buttons on the Vine tn 1999".

      May 6-8     TEXAS
                  The Austin Button Club, with the help of the New Braunfels
                  Area Button Club and the San Antonio Button Club, will host
                  the Texas  State Button Society  Annual Spring  Show  at the
                  Chariot Inn on I-35 in Austin.  The show theme is "Buttons
                  and Books".  For resewations, call the Inn directly  at (512)
                  452-9311,  and mention  the TSBS show to receive the room
                  discount. A workshop on writing and judging  awards will be
                  held on Thurs.  afternoon  and an auction ofbuttons and related

      May 13-15   MINNESOTA
                  The Minnesota  State  Button  Society will hold their annual
                  show at the Ramada  Inn in Owatonna, l2l2 North I 35, on the
                  frontage  road of I 35 and West Highway  14, Exits #42 or #43,
                  (507) 455-0606 or (800) 272-6232. The theme is, "Birds  of a
                  Feather." An auction  of buttons will be held Thursday
                  aftemoon,  5113 at4:00  p.m. Auction buttons may be viewed
