'To My Ameican Button friends
I would like to say how touched I have been by the letters and cards I have
had from so many of you since the death of my dear husband, John. Not a few of
you are well aware of the gap left when a person, who has been a close
companion and friend for many years, departs this life. Although John never
made it to the United States, a lot of you got to know his voice when he answered
your phone calls. He always welcomed anyone from the U.S. who came to our
home and loved to hear my stories about the places and people I saw when I
made my annual visits. Buttons have done more than give me a hobby they
-
have given me all ofyou as friends. Thank you for your friendship and support.
