Weingarten. Others who attended
were Darla Crockett and Phyllis
Ross. Our mission was to find the
most diversified materials, the
best examples, and the greatest
number of backmarks.
We could only have 20 buttons on each of the three cards. We had
hundreds, but many were of metal. We finally, agonizingly, whittled them
down to the 60 needed for the project. painstakingly, we color coordinated
both thread and wire keyed to each individuar whose buttons were used. This
was to insure we would return them to the rightful owners.
Roxanne researched and composed the written material. Bobbie, Linnie
and Lucille helped with other aspects ofthe project. Jean and her husband
computerized the labels. An additional complication was the need to mount
them on acetate. Trips were made to buy various items, small pictures were
recreated to add adornment. Yvonne worked as only yvonne
does for a
pleasing, balanced, and afiistic layout. The night before our convention, all
was finally ready...a four-month project.
On the preceding pages are the results.
P.s. out treasury will be $50 richer and we ce.tainry leamed a lot about
