0ctober l99i NATIONAL BUTTON BULLETIN 213
Buttons of Local Clubs and State Button Societies
by Edith Fairman
In the February 1997 issue of the National Button Sociery Bulletin, Lucille
Weingafien presented a question about official buttons of state button societies.
In the National Bulletin of January 1954, there is an article written by Viola
Huriton and Jane Ford Adams on the results of a survey of the 159 clubs listed in
the National Directory at that tirne. The most frequent reply was that the club had
no official button. Pictured are 4l of the buttons that were currently wom listed
alphabetically stafting with Califomia and including local clubs then in existence.
How wonderful that I am able to show that same first button design as mv
first button! I understand there is a newer one.
Many of nly
buttons were acquired j*o
