MORE ABOUT COLD ENAMELING
A sparkling tray of cold enamels from the collection of Dottie Faison.
In the February Bulletin, Eileen Montgomery of Ohio wrote about epoxy plastic
or the technique of cold enameling on modern buttons. The comments we have
received on this article have been most encouraging. At the time we ran the article, we
did not have many examples. However, Dottie Faison of Texas showed us her card of
these buttons and we wanted to share them with you. The buttons pictured here are
from a sample card which Dottie had the good fortune to find. The colors are brilliant.
There are two and four-hole sew thru's as well as a number of shapes. Six of the
buttons are imitation basse-taille. The new information on these buttons is provided
by Dottie from the sample card. They were on the market in the 1960's and 70's and
were manufactured by Superico International Co. and Sun Rising Enterprise Co.,
Ltd., both of Taipai, Taiwan, R.O.C., and Clover Trading Co., Ltd of Osaka, Japan.
Another new niche for our modern collectors!
