             NEVADA TREiANIZES EiTATE StrtrIETY

"Number Six" seems to hold magic for Nevada button collectors. A year ago,
Juty 6, 1967, The Nevada. Pioneer Button Club wa"s organized at the home of Mrs.
Dorothy Waldron. On June 6, f968, exactly eleven months later, the Nevada State
Button Society was formed. This most welcome news arrived by telegram from
Mrs. lffaldron just in time to be placed in this issue of the BULLETIN.
We congratulate the hard working "Pioneer" members who have achieved so
much within such a short while. We feel that the "power of the press" has con-
tributed to the interest manifested by Nevadans. (Se€ N.B.B., September-October,
1967, pages 238-246) and axe proud to be part of it.
Watch for a report of numerous activities of the Club which will be published
in September-October N.B.B. All of these activities, added to much study done by
the Club group, culminated in the State-wide organization. Special recognition
should be given to Mrs. Waldron, who planted the seed, tenderly nourished the
plant, and is now rewarded with the fruit. A bright future is predicted.

                         NEWEi FRtrM TEXAS
Recent correspondence from Mrs. N. Ii. (Geraldynne) Slo.sson of San Antonio,
Texas, contained the first information we had received of the passing of her hus-
band November last. Mr. Slosson had been in failing health for several years. We
      extend sympathy from the Membership.
Mrs. Slosson and Miss Ann Hafner purchased a new home and moved to it
May lst. It is located in Green Ttee Village Park, San Antonio. There is a Club
House at entrance to the Park, and the manager of the ViUage has ofiered facili-
ties of the Club House for every month meetings of the Cen-Tex Button Club.
The first meeting held at the new location was in May, and the first CIub visitors
in the new location were Mr. and Mrs. Denver Eiliott, Peoria, Illinois.
Please make note of changed meeilng place of Cen-Tex Club, as published in
Calandar of Events. You will also flnd Mrs. Slosson's telephone number listed

November-December, 1968 NATIONAL BUTTON BULLETIN. T'he service of
posting Awards at the Show is for the benefit of those attending, who may want
to compete next year, and for our l)ealer Friends who will have splendid stocks
for sale. When the Awards are posted at the Show where they can be studied,
needed buttons and mounting materials can be purchased.
When sending Awards to the Chairman, it is a nice gesture to mention a sec-
ond choice, just in case the flrst choice has been previously accepted from an-
other donor. Your thoughtfulness will in many cases save correspondence. SEND
