                                     The  National  Button  Society  bows  in  reverence
                                  to  the  nremor}-  of  NIr. Crow,  one of  the  best  known
                                  alld  most  successful collectors.  Ilawley  Crotv  rvas
                                  pr,^sent  at  e very Annual Meeting  of the Society, help-
                                  ing in  every capacity  where help was needed. I{e  was
                                  capable.
                                     At  all  times collectors could turn  to Mr. Crow for
                                  advice and  help  knox'ing  that  he  would  treat  their
                                  problems as  his  own.  In  1944, he  published  a  very
                                  helpful  booklet  on "Classifyin8:  and Judging Buttons."
                                     His  final  ofiices  as  a  member of  the  Cataiogue
                                  Committce and Chairman  of  Judges, Emeritus,  attest
                                  the  hish  esteem in  which  he  was held.
                                     lIe  w'as a. rural  mail  carrier  for  twenty  eight
                                  yea.rs and  Scout Master  for  the  past  fifteen  years,
                                  proud  of  his  Silver  Beaver  Scout  Award.  Mr.  Crow
                                  was a veteran of World  W'ar I,  a member  of  the Pearl
                                  City  American  Legion, a  Past  Commander and  Past
                                  Chaplain of  the  I-ena American  Leg:ion.
                                     I{is  button  society activities  included local  organi-
                                  zations  and the Past Presidency of Illinois  State But-
                Ilarvley  A.  OrorI  ton  Society, he  y'as  a  Lif e  member  of  the  National
                                  Society.
                To Doris and to  his  son, Roland,  he leaves  a priceless memory.  To them we
             express our deepest  sympathy; your  loss is ours too.

                In  April  we  learned  of  the. death  of  l\,Irs. Lilla  Linkietter  of  Somerville.
            Massachusetts. Mrs. Linkletter  $'as one of the earliest  button  collectors in  this
            state.  In  1944, she served  as state  president  and graciously  welcomed the  NBS
            to  SDringfield  for  its  first  spring National  Show.  Mrs. Linkletter  was president
            of  the  B. B. B. Club  also, for  many  years.  She was  particularly  inteiestect  in
            foreign  military  buttons  having  purchased  the  Servis  foreign  button  collection
            gathered many years  ago.
                Our sl'mpathy is  extended to  Mr.  Linkletter.
                            MRS. HAZEL  MCLELLAN-CALIFORNIA
                The  Oakland  Button  Club notifieal us  of  the  aleath  of  their  co-founder  and
            p_ast,Dfesiclent,  on De cember 2, 1954. NIrs. Mclellan  was the, seconcl  president  of
            the  california  state  Button  society serving  during  1943 and 1944. sLe rvas  also
            a past president  of  the  Sonoma Button  Club.
            -   In_  -oly  Natjonal organization, 1\frs. Mclellan  served as Chairman  of  Shut-Ins,
            from  1945 until  the  close of  1948.

            could  be written  of  Mrs.  Mclellan's  unselfish woik  for  the  good. of  the  clubs,
