1-4. Green leaf snaps through red, but can't now be removed, as the dowel
was flattened out slightly in the back to hold firmly.
1-5. Yellow metal anchor snaps through the black and white laminated
plastic. The white middle layer is revealed in the center behind the anchor,
giving the appearance ofa background.
l-6. (a) The two head pieces both attach via the shank. The boy's face
piece penetrates and holds on the white hat piece, going through to form the
shank in back, while (b) is a different style 3-piece, in that the white and pink
pieces attach separately. The white face goes through and forms the shank,
while the pink bow has a dowel attachment (removable) at the top of Minnie's
head.
l-1 . Separate black and white pieces are held together by a gold metalized
center piece.
1-8. The four pieces are: gold bottom, ring of imitation pearls, smaller gold
ring, topped by a single large "pearl".
1-10. Another 3-piece, with pearlized head, black background piece and
openwork gold metalized frarne.
l-l l. (1) Embedded circle of gold in clear plastic in body of button; the
gold center snaps in/out. (2) The embedded gold design under plastic surface
is in the part that snaps in/out.
l-12. (1) and (2) Same construction-different designs and colors: the
opaque white pieces are ernbcdded in the body. The gold-colored center snaps
inlout.
I - I 3. (a) Clear colorless back piece, with silver metalized center;
rniscellaneous pictorial, mythological (Medusa). (b) Unusual snap-in: the gold
metalized border is the top piece and snaps into the clear body piece by means
ofone dowel on the front near center ofbutton. Self-shank in clear plastic,
which is a faceted hearl
l-14. Transparent colored isn't common so far for any part of a snap-
together. This peach colored one has a small lion's head in gold metalized
plastic center piece, forming shank.
l-15. Gold metalized lion's head on leather-look textured matte surface in
avocado.
1-16. Real horn slice, mottled coloring. Brass metal dragonfly escutcheon
snaps through to form shank.
1-11 . Real horn, blond color. Same style as above with gilt metal beetle.
1- 1 8. Real leather with yellow metal snap-through piece with a shield
design.
I - 19. Real wood with yellow metalized plastic snap-through piece forming
the shank. Design is a double star with anchor.
l-20. See metal heart with glitter on Project Card 2-10. As of this writing,
this is the only example of "other" materials forming the main body of snap-
togethers.
