                                 FOIL PICTURES  IN ENAMEL
                  These large enamel  buttons  are lepl'esentative of  the highest  form of
              artistic skill.  The metal base is copper.  The buttons are counter-enam-
              eled-that  is, an equal amount of  enamel is  apptied  to  the back of  the

                   The back being completed,  the artisan turns to the face of the button'
