"BUIITON ROSETTES" and other "NEW BUTTONS"
"Rosettes for trimming dresses: use strips of sarsenet scalloped and
placed upon stiff net. Quilt the silk closely, and place it in a spiral form
round the net. Place an elegant button in the middle."
The three cloth covered buttons on the right have black glass ornamental
trim. They were listed under the heading of "New Buttons."
The pictures with their headings and the description of the rosettes
are also from Peterson's rVagazine of the 1860 period.

Hilary Goslin, Linda Barmuta, Lynn Kirk, Lynn Pearce and Miss Cham-
berlain's pet "Wee Beau." Miss Winifred Chamberlain is the club
advisor.
Their program for the year includes discussions on mountings; calicoes;
black glass; uniform buttons; enamels; picture buttons; hard rubber; bone;
horn and religious symbols. Special features are a picnic, and a tea for
the mothers of the girls at which time they plan to have a button exhibit.
The girls meet the third Saturday of the month (except July and
August) and each nember brings her own sandwiches and the hostess
serves dessert,
